"Unexpectable delays"

About: Kingston Hospital

I was referred to eye casualty by my optician and after waiting there from 10am till 4.30pm (may be a bit later) on the 10th of July I was told that there was nothing they can do by the consultant to help the vision probem in my right eye (they did an OCT) - when i insisted on getting a second opinion the second consultant was a bit more helpful and said before anything can be finalised they need to do fluorescein angiography and I will be contacted for an appointment for the following week. I waited the following week and as i didn't hear anything I consulted an opthamologist via my private medical insurence - I was given EYLEA injection in the eye on the same day to avoid further damage. To this date i have not being contacted by NHS Kingston eye unit for the fluorescein angiography.

My private consultant asked me to request my GP to refer me to NHS Kingston eye unit as after 3 months the medical insurance won't cover it ongoing costs for injections i have to take every 4 weeks. My GP wrote to the Eye unit in August and I haven't still got an appointment making matters much worse. I called them today and the gentlement i spoke this morning said it can take 2 weeks or longer.

I am 33yrs old full-time professional - i need my eye sight to be okay in oder to continue with my job. This reckless oversight from the eye unit would have caused permenent vision impairment if i didn't have private medical insurence. All I am now asking is to maintin my current vision despite 3 months delay and it's not happened.
