About: Tameside General Hospital

In August my grandson was admitted to the MAU through A&E with a chest infection, his condition deteriorated, no beds were available in critical care and he wasn't stable enough to be transferred, he was put on a temporary ventilator in theatre recovery with 2 members of staff to take care of him until a bed was available on the CCU. The care he received on CCU was second to none in the 4 weeks or so he was on CCU he was treated with dignity, care and kindness as were the whole family. Tha doctors and nurses who looked after him are truly outstanding, caring, compassionate, a dedicated team who we cried and laughed with, they instilled trust in us and involved us in his treatment every step of the way. He also spent some time at Whythnshawe hospital , ACC,ward 42 & 31 at Tameside and they were fine, but CCU deserve a medal. Thank you for getting my grandson home where he belongs.

I passed your comments to CCU Matron. Who would like to thank you for your very positive and complimentary comments and to assure you that they always aim for this level of care and involvement for all our patients and their families.
