It was 1 am and I had gone into labour with my 4th child, for personal reasons we was unable to take my 2 youngest children to their grandma as agreed so we had no choice but to take them with us, I got to the hospital and I was ready to push when a midwife came into us and told us our children can not be their, even though they was sent into. Side room, within 5 minutes of entering the hospital I had given birth and my husband was back and forth to our girls and being told they really can not be their, my husband cut the baby's cord and left to take the girls home,he ccouldn't spend anytime with us or his new son and didn't get to hold him or see him properly till 1pm when I was discharged, I find it discusting that he was made to rush and take the girls off the ward, when we should of been together and bonding with our new son, thank god they was no complications with my son or myself as I would of been on my own. They need to take into consideration that this happens and that not just us but other people might have this problem of no one else to look after children and have no choice but to take them with them. Maybe they could have a family room? What was supposed to be a happy moment was rushed and spoilt.
The midwife carimg for me was also run off their feet an didn't seem to have time for me, I had my son at 2 am and I had asked for a drink after, it was 5am when I finally got one and as offerd something to eat! That's 3 hours of waiting!
