"Recent laparoscopic procedure and outpatient appts"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus

Excellent care from the consultant, their team and the theatre staff. Nursing Care on Winnifred 2 was also excellent especially night staff. Only constructive criticism is that when attending outpatients it is not explained in appt letter that you must book in at the reception desk / self check in and not go straight to the clinic area. Approached outpatients from the main corridor and blood taking waiting area/ cafe and did not directly pass outpatient reception desk / check in screen. Apparently Clinic staff do usually ask patients if they have booked in at main reception but unfortunately was greeted by a someone who did not check , though was shown appt letter, consequently sat in the clinic waiting area for over an hour thinking the consultant was running late before staff realised was waiting. Signs at the clinic entrances reminding patients to book at main reception / self check in screen would be useful for patients who have not been to outpatients before and have not directly passed reception desk area.

Thank you for your getting in touch to provide such constructive feedback that will help us to improve for future patients. I’m pleased you received good care however sorry that you had a such a long wait (which could have been avoided through better information). We are already looking at how we can make changes in response.

Kind regards,

Victoria Loffreda.
