"Waiting time"

About: Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

I took my mother to hopital on the advice of my Dr who was going to email ahead so they knew to expect us ( we said no to an ambulance so we got there quicker)

Once we arrived we booked in but they had no recored of us and we were asked to wait in the waiting area having been booked in. please be aware my mother was in her pj's, vomiting and in real pain and very uncomfortable. We waited 3/4 of an hour and i stressed we should have come be ambulance but they were busy! then we saw a nurse who had no idea and but us in a different waiting area where we stayed for 1 1/2 hours...... not one person came near us while we wee ther to see how mum was doing in fact they were avoiding us...

Mam was seen be alovely Dr and all went well after that

Dear Sir / Madam,

Many thanks for sharing this with us. I am sorry that you had to wait longer than expected for your mother to be seen in emergency care and that you would have wanted more support for her at this time . I can appreciate how distressing it must have been to observe her in pain.

I will ensure all your comments are shared directly with the team - I know that they pay a great deal of attention to patient feedback to identify where we need to continually improve.

Thank you for your kind comments about the doctor you saw - I do hope your Mother is feeling lot better now.

With best wishes,

Annie
