I am disappointed at the care we have received at Ashford. My daughter has an enlarged pituitary and two cysts which we await feedback on. We originally attended a GP in September 2014 for referral to the hospital. 1 year later we still do not have full diagnosis or explanation of results. In their year we have turned up for paediatric brain imaging that has been cancelled due to the absence of a consultant because no one realised my daughter was under 18. We have been told she had a pituitary cyst when there was no cyst. We had the shocking experience of being sat down to wait for what we thought was a routine scan and then having a member of staff come to tell us not to worry about pituitary tumours as they were very easy to operate on. A shock for a young 16 year old girl in a waiting room to whom no one has even mentioned a tumour. She was referred to kings in February for a consult on a pineal gland brain cyst in excess of twice the tolerated size. The consultant was reassuring but wanted a second opinion. Our consultant has left and we were not informed. We have been reassured three times someone would get back to us with an appointment and a result from kings. Our GP has refused to change medicine because they have not had expert opinion back. The GP has been ignored despite efforts to retrieve results from kings in February. We have accelerated growth headaches, an A level studying daughter missing school, no results or recommendations and fear of there being some serious outcomes that apparently no one is communicating or frankly cares about. We are on our way to the ombsudsman.
