"HOT clinic experience"

I recently had to attend A and E for some tests, it was decided that although not urgent I needed further investigation via the HOT clinic. I got a phone call same day with an appointment for 2 days time with a consultant who was excellent, explaining all investigations and plans and possible causes for my health worries. I had all investigations and tests within 2 weeks, I was kept regularly informed of the process by the consultant's secretary who again was excellent. They are kind, thoughtful and very good at their job. I had total faith in the care they provided and felt they understood my worries and empathised with what I needed regarding communication and updates with the process of tests and gaining results.

I saw the consultant again once all tests completed although I had been given all results at each stage to tie up the consultation and give me the chance to ask any questions. Again a very empathetic and laymans terms approach focused on me and any concerns I had and what the next steps were. Excellent health care experience from FGH in general from blood testing, ECG, scans in Radiology, with particularly great care coordinated from the consultant and their secretary
