We do not have the words to describe the excellent, warm, and friendly service we received for our first born's birth at the Birth Centre and the ward under professional and superb supervision. From the beginning, i.e., the point we approached our midwife at Bayswater midwives centre in W2, until the actual time and subsequent period of stay at the hospital, we had a beautiful experience.
The entire cycle, from initial midwife, to senior midwife, to the scanning and regular trips and then the managed birth via natural process was smooth, efficient, patient focused and effective. The two angels who were in the room for over 12 hours during active birth were Godsend!
It pains me to read, sadly, the many negative reviews people have put up here for the services they received. Patients have rights, so do the NHS staff who are working tirelessly to help the patients in the hour of need. There is a human side which we must recognise in order to appreciate the challenges faced by the staff, too.
In short, we do ask patients to be kind and considerate to the staff and to explain what they need from NHS, to be prepared, and to have confidence in the excellent services they provide.
Kudos to the team and the staff at the 1st floor of St Mary's maternity Dept who work tirelessly to ensure that each and every new human who is about to and who does come to this world is looked after and cared for. A million thanks and beyond...
