I was unexpectedly admitted to MAU (Seaford Ward) on Friday 25th September, after an urgent appointment with my GP.
Let me firstly say, I have been a HCA for 40 plus years, so I am fussy, and observant, so seeing how other Patients are treated, as well as myself. It was a mixed bay, but that did not cause anyone any problems, no-one was unhappy at that situation.
I did not single out any particular member of staff by name on the satisfaction survey I filled in, because everyone was first class, from the member of staff serving tea to the Consultant.
Paperwork was completed, bloods taken, venflon inserted very quickly. I was regularly offered, food, drink, analgesia.
The ward was spotless, nursing staff also regularly washing their hands, and equipment. The food was good, well cooked, well presented, and what an amazing choice of dishes! Everyone was polite, pleasant and helpful. I have sent e-mails on previous occasions to the Chief Executive, speaking highly of treatment both in the E.D. and OPDhave received, and did not even receive an acknowledgement!
Do not let anyone be put off by the fact the CQC put the Hospital into "Special Measures" last week.
"Fussy patient"
