"nothing at all"

About: Leigh Infirmary

(as the patient),

What I liked

nothing at all

What could be improved

staff, decor, waiting rooms. they had abortion leaflets in the waiting rooms which i felt was terrible for infertile women to see and to be sat in the same room as women who were having abortions

Anything else?

i am currently under the care of a Consultant in the assisted conception unit or ward 2 as it is commonly known. reception staff are unfriendly and unhelpfull. clearly can not be bothered. waiting rooms are crowded and look dark and dismal. abortion leaflets scattered around on tables which upset me. nurses didn't have much to do with me. 1st time i saw ny Consultant he was rude and aarogant, blaming my pcos on my weight and said i was far too fat to have a baby. was told to lose 11lbs in 8wks or would be refused treatment. went back to see him in july.45min wait spent 2mins in there. student doc was present along with nurse which i wasn't informed about. was treated with no respect. i had lost all the weight asked of me and more yet was refused treatment again and told to lose another 18lbs by october. nurse said i would not respond to treatment and could not be put on it for long. doctor didn't seem to care my pcos is severe and so painfull that i probably will not get pregnant through lack of treatment when needed. i was left feeling ashamed and depressed. was not treated with any respect or dignity and they clearly don't care about pcos sufferers. it's as if i am fat on purpose through eating and not the fact that i have a metabolic disorder. i am looking into going to another clinic in a different hospital. even when i had a miscarriage years ago before my pcos, i was ill treated by the nurses who fired questions after question asking me why i did not take morning after pill as i was far too young at 20 to be pregnant. i worked in the hospital too and expected better standards
