I was admitted to A&E at 2.45pm on Monday with severe abdominal pain and was seen by a nurse then a doctor very quickly and was diagnosed as suffering with Kidneys Stones. In the privacy of a side ward I was given a full and thorough series of tests to confirm the problem and was seen by no fewer than four doctors including the consultant with several nurses in attendance. These investigations included ultrasound scans, an ECG and a CT Scan in the next building, along with blood and urine analyses. I was made very comfortable and kept fully informed of all the ongoing investigations. I was given painkillers at the appropriate time and very soon I was pain free. Eventually I was moved into Ward 22 for final supervision and one of the doctors finally gave me a full report of all the tests and discharged me at 9.30pm.
I was very impressed with the emergency treatment I received at St James' and must compliment the entire team who dealt with me in the most professional and skilled manner. They are all doing a fantastic job of work for which I am most grateful.
