On arriving at out patients this morning, I was informed that my appointment had been cancelled . This without notification to me and actually the third time. I had a cataract operated on two years ago. The lens clouded over and needed laser treatment. Iwas quite distressed at this news as the appointment was put back to November. On seeing my obvious distress the wonderful receptionist asked me to take a seat while they looked into the matter. The end result being that I was seen on the day by the eye specialist who lasered the eye and gave me back my vision. I cannot praise your staff highly enough, from the volunteers on the main door , the receptionists in out patients and all the people who dealt with me in opthalmology.
Sorry I didn't get names, but they know who they are. A lot of people knock Newark Hospital, but not me. I've always found the level of care exceptional, whether as an in patient or an out patient.
Thank you all. Best regards, Andy Doyle.
