"Respectful treatment during a difficult time,..."

About: Lister Hospital

I first went to Lister A&E after experiencing bleeding in early pregnancy, and was later referred to the Early Pregnancy Unit. Sadly I ended up having medical management for a miscarriage, and have not been officially 'discharged' yet but I just wanted to praise the staff for their sympathetic and sensitive treatment during one of the most painful experiences of my life (physically and mentally). This is my second loss, the first being at Woolwich back in 2010, and the treatment I received was polar opposite. At Lister I was listened to, consulted with, and given choices. I was never spoken down to, left alone for hours on end, or left wondering what was happening to me. At Lister EPU you are seen very quickly when having complications, and once it is clear the pregnancy cannot be saved there are private rooms where you can go to grieve and be seen away from the other expectant mothers and children, this is a nice touch. Thank you.

Thanks for getting in touch at what is no doubt still a very difficult time for you.

We've arranged for your very kind feedback to be shared with our maternity team colleagues - especially those in the EPU.

In the meantime, many thanks for getting in touch and please accept our best wishes for the future.
