"Why book appointments"

About: Queen Victoria Hospital (East Grinstead)

We were referred from whitstable minor injuries unit to this hospital and given an appointment in a couple of hours (takes 90 minutes with traffic) but obviously has to go home and sort things out first.. So we rushed to get there only to not be seen for 2 hours then a further 5 hours for treatment.

Why not just say make your way there not given us impossible appointments that you have no intention of keeping.

I would not say this 'Centre of Excellence' is living up to its hype on this contact

We are sorry to learn of the concerns you have raised and the negative impact that this had on your experience. With the limited amount of information given it would seem that you were referred by the Whitstable Hospital to our Trauma service which runs out of the Minor Injuries Unit here at QVH.

Although we do our best to keep to the allocated times, unfortunately sometimes appointments can take longer than expected, which may mean that patients have a longer wait. I wish to apologise if this information was not conveyed to you by the referring hospital as this is outlined within our patient information leaflet entitled ‘Trauma referral to Queen Victoria Hospital’. A copy of this leaflet should have been given to you by Whitstable Hospital; however we will ensure that further copies are made available to them.
