"How pleasant the staff were, and ..."

About: Booth Hall Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked How pleasant the staff were, and very approachable What could be improved? Waiting times, My 3 year old daughter had an appointment booked in outpatients for 3:50pm, when we arrived at the hospital and checked in the waiting time was 2 hours which with a 3 year old is a little too long especially if the child has to have tea and then bed at 7pm (40 mile journey to be completed to get home). I know that there is a canteen but why should I have to pay for a meal, when I have one that has been cooked at home. As for the waiting times with most people having the ability to be contacted (ie mobiles, house phone, email?) and the hospital database having those numbers why isn't the patient contacted and told that there is a long waiting time and then told to turn up at nearer the actual time that he/she is likely to be seen, therefore saving time of those people who have to organise transport.
