My granddaughter has two weeks to go before due to give birth and had attended for a scan. On this occasion her sister took time out from college to accompany her. Following the scan she was seen by a specialist midwife which proved to be a very disturbing experience for both of them.
The pregnant granddaughter was spoken down to as a child rather than a woman in her twenties and she was obviously emotionally challenged by the experience given her conndition amongst other relative problems.
Her sister was mortified and upon trying to intervene a voice was raised to her.
She has since established that this unacceptable conduct and attitude has been the pattern with her sister during the duration of her confinement.
As a person on the academic path towards a career in social work she is appalled that someone vulnersble can be treated with so little dignity and respect so much so that she plans to take her concerns further.
"Totally unprofessional"
