My experience of the scan dept was quite traumatic, as i had someone being taught while doing my scan. This was very exhausting and painful at times, as the person being taught was concentrating on what to do, and left me to manage myself, and not have much patient interaction. This was followed on by a second scan by the experienced person, who too didn't ask me how i was or explain much about the procedure, or apologize for how long it was taking. I wouldn't allow a training session to be carried out on me again. It's a shame as i have always felt very good about treatment there before, and know it's a good hospital with good people working there. Part of the training needs to be about interaction with the patient and putting them at ease, and checking with them that they are ok as you go along, it turned into a marathon session which i wasn't prepared for.
