"Staff (especially nurses) excellent"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

I was admitted on Thursday afternoon for one night. All the staff I came across were great from the receptionist to all nurses, doctors, midwifes and other staff. The nurses on the ward (1A) in particular couldn't do more for you and struck the right balance of professionalism and making you feel comfortable at a stressful time.

However the one negative was that I went to A&E in the afternoon and didn't get to the ward until 6 - after tea had been served. The shops were also closed so had no means of getting food. The nurses very kindly found me some bread and a pot of tuna to make a sandwich but there should be some means of feeding people who arrive at that time.
