For the past year I have been treated at the Freeman Hospital respiratory medicine department.
I have suffered for many years with bronchiectasis and pseudomonas.
prior to this I was very poorly on a number of occasions every year possibly having up to 5 or 6 flare ups of quite serious infection.
These resulted in some 14 day hospital stays for I.V's something I hated.
Since attending the Freeman we have been taught how to administer our own I.V's at home which has made life far easier.
This is however not the most important area, the team in respiratory care treat you as an individual, involving you in the decision making regarding your treatment. All those involved from the consultant to the specialist nurse and the team on ward 29 have made our lives much easier,
I hope to be able to continue working with them for many years to come.
