Attended A&E for a fractured wrist early on a Thurs morning. Was seen promptly, placed in a cast and discharged by lunchtime with no pain relief. A friend had some codeine left over which she gave to me.
Was surprised to wait 8 days for surgery (not serious enough I guess) Quite sore!
Surgery went well and was discharged the following day.
At the follow up appointment there were long delays in the trauma dept. Not helped by waiting a very long time unnecessarily for the cast room.
I'm back again and writing this from the waiting room, waited 2 hours to be called to the cast room and I don't have a cast at all this time...
Perhaps some kind of triage system when people arrive to assess whether they need to wait for a cast removal would help streamline things a bit!
Anyway, the wait has given me plenty of time to write this review at least - 2.5 hours so far...
And finally, obviously there is a massive parking issue. Long queues for parking and lots of staff cars parked on double red lines... Nothing new, it's been like that for ages. It just seems... Shoddy? Surely a multistorey car park is the answer?
"Great care, not so good at joining the dots"
