We were admitted to the Children's ward with our 22 month old daughter with breathing difficulties. We live in London and had been visiting a relative when she became ill so we were miles from home with a sick toddler and our other daughter who is 6 years old. Though we had to remain in A&E for sometime for assessment we were kept updated and the children kept entertained. Upon learning that we were to be admitted the staff took great care in ensuring that the four of us could remain together, at such a worrying time we didn;t want to be apart with one parent all the way in London. The staff enursed that our two girls would be looked after and fed them both dinner and breakfast, as well as allowing our older daughter to ask plenty of questions. They treated us all with dignity and empathy, and I was, and am, extremely grateful that we ended up in this hopital rather than another. Our daughter has since made a full recovery.
