"Communication issues"

About: Hinchingbrooke Hospital

Visited the Emergency Department. Their waiting estimate was correct, which was useful. However many of us in the waiting area had problems with the various nurses/doctors who pop out at intervals and call patients in for exam or treatment.

They are very hard to hear clearly in a busy environment, and twice the HCP had disappeared back behind the locked door before we could get to the front of the waiting area. Why can't there be a screen, or at least a public address system, to establish who is being called up and where they need to go?

Additionally, people were worried about using the toilet facilities for fear of missing their call. An public address system could reassure you that you hadn't missed any information rather than asking some other patient to listen out for you.
