"Saturday Night"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Thank you for an extremely responsive, helpful and professional service on a busy Saturday night.

In all my husband was helped by 11 excellent professionals over a period of 4hours.

A massive 'thank you' to all staff from the point of telephone contact to discharge.

The NHS provides a wonderful service and we should all appreciate the breadth of its service to the community, and the dedication and commitment of the staff working to maintain high standards of practice.

Following a call to 111 a Rapid Response paramedic came to the house in a very short time to assess my husband's condition.

They determined that admission to A&E was the most appropriate course of action and an Ambulance came within half an hour.

Both paramedics were considerate caring and profesional.

An initial assessment was made in Hospital by the Triarge Nurse and by the time he arrived into the A & E Department a Staff Nurse was waiting for him with all the high tech equipment to test his condition.

Within 20minutes he was seen and treated by a student doctor, supervised by a senior medic.

The treatment was an immediate success and my husband was out of pain and able to fall asleep and recover.

This was followed up by checks from another Staff Nurse and 90minutes later a second A&E Dr came to assess his condition following treatment.

Within 4 hours of arriving he was able to be discharged with advice of follow up care from another Nurse, who offered to contact the District Nurse linked to the GP practice.

He will return to hospital to assess his condition 7 days after the admission to A & E.

Thank you for leaving feedback about the care and treatment your husband received on Saturday Night.

We are always working to improve the services that we offer and positive feedback is an important way that we can measure this.

The attitude and approach of our staff is critical to delivering quality care and I am pleased to hear that their professionalism and attention helped in your Husband’s recovery.

I will share this with members of the Emergency Department team who I am sure will be pleased to see this.

Thank you once more and I hope your Husbands recovery continues.

Thank You

Andrew
