My step father had a mild stroke a month ago and was sent for tests. The sign said we would spend around two hours there which actually ended up being 5. This was totally understandable as emergencies come up but we were kept informed at all times as to what the next step was and also tried to give us times for each procedure.
The staff were amazing, so friendly as well as professional, if we asked a question we were never made to feel like we were being a pain (which we probably were!)
He then went on to have a further two mild strokes so was admitted a few days later, I can't praise the staff enough. From the receptionist and porters, who patiently gave us repeated directions when we got lost, to the nursing staff and the doctors who took the time to explain everything that was happening. Everyone we met and spoke to was so friendly that it made a very distressing and worrying time much less so,
Unfortunately he has had a slight relapse and has now been admitted to a different hospital and the difference in the service and staff is unbelievable!
You guys should be extremely proud of your hospital, I find it so hard to believe there could be such a difference in people who have the same job and stresses as there is between your hospital and another.
Thank you so much
