"Awful experience"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

As my partner fractured his finger we came to the hospital a&e and emergency department, arriving at 6.30 pm yesterday, to leave only after 00.10 without sorting anything out. The staff not helpful at all as they don't know how to handle people or organise their job.

We waited for at least 4 hours to just get the xray and a bandage, then waited again to get a paper saying that we'll get an appointment soon, during the next 7 days. The whole staff looked very relaxed and never in a rush to sort out people, but actually they were handling everything with careless as we needed to go back for a proper bandage. I hope we'll be more lucky. The staff are very confused and give different information.

We are very sorry that you had to wait so long to be seen in our Emergency Department. All patients are triaged and are seen according to their needs. Unfortunately we do experience extremely busy times where patients may have to wait longer than expected.

We really value your feedback and have sent this over to the Emergency Department so that they are able to take into account the concerns you have raised here to make improvements to our service.

Kind regards Barts Health NHS Trust
