This is a copy of a letter i wrote to my hospital doctor following my Radio Frequency Ablation procedure for Atrial Fibrillation.
" Dear ......
I just want to say a huge 'thank you' to you and your talented team of technicians, anaesthetist, doctors, nurses and general staff at Glenfield.
Thank you also for making me feel, as the patient, one of that team, geared specifically to make me and people like me, feel well again.
It's now just 3 days since I had the R.F.A. and I feeI so well after years of living on the edge or being in A.F.
I am aware it may return and, perhaps I should take it a bit easy, but I now feel practically normal again. I can bend down to tie my shoe laces or put my socks on without feeling I'm going to fall over! I can climb the stairs with, not even the faintest hint of light headedness or breathlessness.
I did a gentle 2 mile walk to begin my road to fitness and I'm looking forward to my holiday in Northumberland to walk some of the coastline to Holy Island.
From both myself and my wife, please say a big thank you to everyone for me please. Your skills have made me feel so much better.
Your faithfully and with much gratitude.
John & Kay Pratchett"
May I add that Wards I w,as in 32 and 33 were kept immaculately clean. The nursing and technical staff were friendly, informative and very professional.
My Doctor was brilliant and the other patients in the ward were a delight.
"Brilliant....Just..Brilliant!"
