About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

Having used the QE for different members of my family and more than often had problems of all kinds it was with a great deal of worry and concern when my daughter was diagnosed with a 9cm pelvic mass that could be cancer as well ? My first instinct was to find another hospital but how wrong this would have been from meeting the doctor who fully explained what they would do putting our fears at ease as my daughter has learning disabilities and other complex needs we need to be with her 24/7 even though she is 49 years old they arrange that we where with her at all possible times ? After a long surgery we where taken straight to recovery to be with her as she woke up ? The doctor came and explained what had happened to easy our worries she was taken to critical care to a side ward where the staff also provided an extra bed so we could get some rest as well then onto ward 21 again staff gave us a side ward enabling us to stay with her for her stay unbeatable how the care we received was way beyond anything we could have even dreamed of but this didn't end here after she was discharged we returned for a follow up appointment while we where waiting to see a doctor to get my daughter s result the doctor walk passed on seeing us they asked what we where doing as they were on their way home expling we where waiting to see a doctor they went back in got the notes took us in to a room and went though the results that where negative very good news so how can we find any words that express our gratitude to such a caring consultant and their staff for truly showing helping us though a very tough time thank you all for all your help and caring and a very special thanks to the doctor

Our staff take great pride in patient care and are always delighted to read such positive experiences from people visiting our hospital. Thanks for taking the time to feedback and we hope your daughter feels better soon.
