Over the years I have had two major operations on my spine ( not at the London ) About two years ago I started to have problems again. My GP sent me to Newham General. The consultant there said it was too complex for them and referred me to the London Hospital.
After a six month wait got to the London expecting to see the consultant I was referred to. No I saw a very junior doctor who was out of their depth, the doctor kept running down the corridor to get advice from the consultant. On the third trip I asked if it would be better if the consultant came to see me. The junior asked the consultant and they came stomping in clearly annoyed. I have had two appointments cancelled ( consultant on holiday). Been back for two more appointments and each time I asked to see my consultant but when I went into the consulting room there is another doctor who knows nothing of my case.
There is absolutely no continuity. I thought the days of consultants behaving like Gods were over but not in this department. You are not treated like a human being. I would say if you have a choice do not attend the Orthopaedic Department.
"Avoid this orthopaedic depatment if you can !"
