I have been under my consultant's care for over 10 years.
I trust them explicitly. They could never be replaced by a GP who have (with no disrespect to them) no clue about lupus. Whenever I will visit my GP I get advice from them which I have learned to ignore. My consultant knows when my lupus has flared up by simply talking to me. Sometimes even I don't know that I am so unwell. Blood tests are just an indication and cannot be relied on either. It's a strange illness. And I'll I believe my life depends on my doctor who is compassionate and highly experienced consultant. I'm glad to be under their care.
