"Maternity wards"

My wife first contacted the Assessment ward after feeling pains during the night with little fetal movement. She was asked to come in to have a monitor put on to make sure baby was ok.

On arrival she was assessed and reassured throughout. Baby was fine and we were told to go home and Wait for further developments. Later that night she experienced some blood loss and pains and again called the assessment ward, who asked her to come in to be checked. Again the staff were amazing at keeping us informed and provided excellent care and reassurance. On inspection they informed us that my wife was 4cm dilated and had us transfered to princess Diana ward. Our midwife was exceptional. Calm, informative and supportive throughout. I can safely say the staff made the experience of my wife's first child much less daunting. Towards the end of labour there was difficulty delivering the baby and my wife had to have a ventouse delivery. Again our midwife along with a doctor were informative and reassured my wife throughout which made what could have been a very traumatic experience manageable. After the birth we spent 2 days in the Jeffcoate ward and again were looked after with great care. The support staff provided throughout was amazing. I can't thank the hospital and there staff enough for the time and experience they provided us and our little boy.
