This morning I had my first visit to Hinchingbrooke hospital as I had an appointment with ENT. I was very impressed by all the staff who kept me informed on what was happening. I am used to sitting up Addenbrookes for at least 30 mins before I'm even given. Hearing test and then another 30 mins to be seen by a consultant. Today I had no wait for my hearing test (in fact, the audiologist was waiting at the reception for me when I arrived). After my test I waiting no more than 5 minutes to be seen by the consultant who was very helpful and informative. I needed a bit of suction in my ear to clear some wax and the microscope and suction equipment was all in the consultants room ( at Addenbrookes you normally have to wait again to go into the treatment room for this and even when you don't have to wait it's still a bit inconvenient to pick up your belongings and move into yet another room). Overall, very impressed, I will not go back to Addenbrookes ENT dept. now after having such a pleasant experience here!
