We had a really excellent experience at the Rosie for the birth of our lovely baby girl.
The facilities are excellent, I really couldn't imagine a better environment in which to see my daughter arrive into the world. The rooms are Private, large, comfortable and well thought out.
The waters broke first and we were advised to head in. We were welcomed and made comfortable on arrival and shown straight to a room.
Being our second baby the labour was very short and we found ourselves reaching for the (non emergency) buzzer. Never did we have to wait more than 20 seconds for someone to arrive in the room.
The midwives and other support staff were calm, professional and caring. We felt we knew what was happening and we were well supported.
After our daughter was born there was no rush to leave, we were given time to bond with our baby and for my wife to recover. The staff popped in from time to time to see how we were doing.
I was so pleased and happy with the service we received.
For a health service under significant financial restraint and pressure we should all be grateful for the facility that we have here. Unless folk are willing to pay higher taxes then you should expect resources to be stretched and perhaps at times for others to take priority. For those wishing to take a swipe at the NHS consider where you'd be without it....
"Excellent care"
