About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

Excellent medical & nursing care let down by unprofessional behaviour of staff.

Whilst sitting with unwell relative did not want to hear personal details of a nurses private life.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of the Emergency Department at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. I am delighted to hear that you were happy with the care you received. However, we apologise unreservedly that you felt that staff behaved in an unprofessional manner, and agree that this is inappropriate behaviour in patient areas. Your comments and observations will be fed back to staff via our communication meetings, with a reminder to all staff to behave appropriately when on duty.

The Senior Nurse for this area would be happy to talk to you via telephone, or meet with you, to discuss your comments in more depth if you felt this would be helpful. If you would like to do this, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01392 402093.
