"Weekend Care"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary

Went shopping, came over with dis-orientation and vomiting, luckily my daughter was with me as I found it impossible to walk due to my dizziness.

Paramedic was called and dealt with me well, Ambulance was called and took me to DRI and looked after me until the staff at A & E took over.

Although I was warned it might be midnight before I got out (due to blood tests and results)

I was dealt with so well by staff that I felt at ease at every stage ( I arrived about 1pm).

I had several tests and loads of questions asked (I too wanted to know what had caused the issue).

After a couple of hours I was removed to some A & E wards behind the scenes, here (as at A & E) I was met with friendly, considerate, caring staff who helped to pass the time away.

I was fed and watered and entertained and generally really looked after, right up to the time of leaving.

The only negative thing I witnessed was a patent's daughter who was very rude and abrupt to a senior member of staff, which was definitely un-called for.

If it was my decision I would have had her 'politely' removed. The member of staff was well restrained no to got into an argument - they were a professional throughout.

Throughout my stay, the staff never stopped working even though it seemed a quiet part of the day...the lull before the storm, and non of had anything negative to say.

I would support DRI and the NHS any time... Well Done!
