This is the second time we have used the services at EPAC and Ward 40 under unfortunately sad circumstances. If anything this time I found services improved and the decision to make EPAC accessible 7 days a week is so reassuring at an extremely anxious time for many in the early stages of pregnancy, especially those with a history of pregnancy loss.
Everyone I came into contact with was aware of why we were there and were sensitive to that. Its not all about clinical care, being treated with dignity and respect under distressing circumstances is absolutely invaluable.
We have been a little disappointed with other aspects of our contact with gynae outpatient services but thank EPAC, theatres and Ward 40 for their attention to all round good care at a very difficult time.
I also have 'open access' to Ward 40 for a few weeks in case of problems, I have used this and as expected found them very helpful and it was no problem to answer my questions.
"EPAC and Ward 40 - we received excellent care"
