"Disgusted by the service at Diabetic and..."

About: East Surrey Hospital

My family member was discharged from another hospital having developed secondary diabetes and was referred to East Surrey. He was supposed to have been seen immediately by the diabetic team - that was 5 months ago, In that time we have tried very hard to get him seen. No one is interested in helping us, the admin staff are rude and unhelpful and defensive. We are disgusted by their attitude. When we finally did get an appointment we tried to reschedule it and were told we would have to wait another month! no empathy or assistance by any of the staff. In the meantime his diabetes has been almost completely unmonitored and he has been left at risk. It is shocking lack of care and lack of accountability.

The consultant at our previous hospital was unhappy and our GP whom we eventually saw was also shocked and unhappy. A truly awful experience.
