I have been visiting Torbay Hospital for many years, as I have a chronic disease. I visit both as an inpatient and as an outpatient. The quality of care is excellent, and the hospital always seems to be ahead of the curve in health innovation. A very strong Friends group provides generous funding allowing this small hospital to have excellent services that are constantly under development. In recent times the quality of the nursing care on the wards has suffered - there is no question that wards are under-staffed and nurses lacking the time to provide the care and attention sometimes required. Nursing for inpatients seems far more controlled and less harried. Having said that, whenever I have been very poorly I always receive excellent care and attention. My consultant is remarkably responsive and available.
"Fantastic small hospital"
