Having experienced a great deal of inpatient and outpatient experience over a period of eighteen months - mostly bad i regret to say - bar being unconscious , nothing would/could induce me to be admitted to this awful hospital .

It's such a pity that it being a new hospital that on so many levels the service it provides is absolutely appalling .

I seriously advise Southmead Hospital to consider the use of the word "care" when referring to the service it renders to its patients .

Dear Mr Kettlewell – Thank you for your further comments about Southmead Hospital. I am sorry that you found the care provided by Urology to be so poor. The service has faced challenges since it was combined with the Urology services at the BRI to be a centre of expertise for the Bristol area. The transition was not as smooth as had been hoped and a great deal of work has been undertaken to improve patient experience. Recent initiatives designed to take advantage of this ground work have delivered positive results for many patients and I regret that your experience of the Urology service has remained poor. If you have a specific complaint you would like us to investigate please provide the details to complaints@nbt.nhs.uk and we would be happy to address your concerns with the aim of learning where further improvements can be made.
