Firstly I would like to point out that I am a pensioner that has suffered with MS for some 30 plus years and have lived with discomfort and extreme pain for as long as I can remember.

I attended day surgery on the 25th of August 2015 to be give a injection into my hip to help relieve some of the pain that I have be suffering.

The nursing staff on the recovery and the day surgery wards provided me with excellent care, it is a shame that the same could not be said about the way that I was treated by the consultant that carried out my operation on my hip.

Having looked up the operation that I was going to undertake, I knew what was going to be involved and understood that it would involved some discomfort. I have never felt pain like I experienced during the operation.

I actually screamed out in pain yet the consultant ignored the pain that I was suffering under their care! It was a very distressing experience not only for me but also the nursing staff that was assisting the doctor during the procedure. What human being thinks that it is acceptable to listen to a pensioner cry and scream out in pain!!!???

It was clear to the nursing staff that the amount of anaesthetic that I was given was very little for the procedure.

Why was I in so much pain???? Why did the doctor allow me to suffer so much pain in this day and age? Only the consultant will know why they allowed me to suffer this way.

It is unfortunate that I will have to under go this procedure again as without it the very little mobility that I have will be taken from me leaving me wheel chair bound.

I have received my next appointment to see the consultant and it fills me with dread knowing that this person, that you trust to help you can treat and inflict such physical and emotional pain.
