"First birth - very satisfied"

About: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (King's Lynn)

Fantastic care & attention from both midwives (one student) who supported me through the labour & birth of my first child. Also received fantastic help from the person who helped me into the shower & supplied my husband & I with food & drink following the birth. Brilliant support & help with breastfeeding.

Private room for the night was supplied (at a cost) & was very clean. Staff on the ward were very pleasant & were also a great help with breastfeeding.

Slightly disappointed with the treatment received before labour was fully established earlier in the day. I think the midwife was trying to be efficient but this just came across as being abrupt & unempathetic...very much made me feel like an inconvenience, which was upsetting following days of contractions & little sleep. This turned out to be the midwife in charge.

All things considered I had a very positive experience & will be more than happy to return if I have anymore children.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments about the care you received from our maternity services. I was very pleased to hear that your labour and birth were well supported and that you and your husband received the attention you required throughout your time in the hospital. I will share your comments with the teams on the Central Delivery Suite and Castleacre Ward so that they are aware of your satisfaction with the care they gave. I will also communicate about how you felt prior to established labour and your experiences with midwives on the ward as we are keen to ensure that each patient's experience in our hospital is a positive one throughout their stay.
