I spent all my time in the run up to giving birth to my first child with people forever telling me to be wary that I was having to go to Medway Hospital to have my baby. Wiith my high BMI and a baby measuring large for dates I was also informed that I wouldn't be able to deliver at the birth place, which led to more horror stories about the delivery suite, but I can honestly say every bad word and terrible tale could not have been more opposite to what I experienced. I can not fault my experience there, labour was induced on Pearl Ward and progressed quickly, the midwife and student midwife looking after me could not have been more supportive and helpful throughout the entire process. They were incredible to have around through what was in all fairness ,a pretty straightforward labour, they were informative and answered all our questions - even took the time to become involved in our conversations share stories and make us feel incredibly comfortable through out. Stitches were needed as I suffered a pretty deep tear, this was delayed as there was an emergency on the suite that needed urgent attention, the midwife and consultant could not have been more apologetic, and in their absence the student midwife was incredibly helpful answering our paranoid first time parent constant questioning. The whole experience was a pleasure from beginning to end, which ended up nicely with an overnight stay at the birth place where the midwife that night was incredibly supportive with help breast feeding and settling the little one. The staff at the birth place the following day were nice, helpful, and kept us informed of everything going on in the build up to going home! A 10/10 experience. Perhaps my experience was the exception and not the rule but I would recommend my time there to anyone.
"Incredible care from staff on Pearl, Del Suite..."
