"A and E"

About: St Peter's Hospital (Chertsey)

My 87 year old Mother was taken to A and E by her grand daughter. ( in her early 20's ) on Tuesday 18th August at 8 pm when I arrived in fact from another hospital after visiting someone having cancer treatment.

Approximately one and half hours after she was taken in. She was in great pain and moaning ( although quietly but in great pain) when I enquired of my daughter what was happening she advised me nothing.

Just placed in a bed in a and to wait for a Dr. I then went and asked at the dr station why she was being left in pain? The Dr I spoke wrote her up some pain relief and explained they would see her. Another half hour passed still nothing given to her. When I eventually got angry a nurse appeared with meds. The Dr I spoke to felt sorry for us and then examined my Mother and kept her in. The story follows by telling you she was back the next after falling and then dismissed again and fell in the car park trying to get in the car. So was the taken back in again. I now have her at home with me. Where she is still in great pain and feels she would better off dead.

We are extremely sorry and concerned to hear about your mother’s recent experiences at our hospital.

This is not the care we strive to provide our patients.

Without more information it is difficult for us to comment further, but we would encourage you to contact our Patient Experience Team on 01932 723553 or email pals@asph.nhs.uk so that we can discuss this further with you.
