"totat knee replacement 18 august"

About: Duchy Hospital

The service and quality of care in the Duchy is fantastic nothing to much trouble when I was in a lot of pain right after my op they gave me the drugs to be able to cope with it.

I did feel that there was pressure for me to vacate my room but this is only my opinion I think I could have done with another day as things were quite a struggle for the first 24 hours I don’t know if this was because I was NHS or you needed the bed.

But that was 72 hours ago and I am coping fairly well

Kind regards

David Laffin

Thank you for your positive comments, it is good to hear that you are coping well.

We try not to hurry people out after their procedure, taking our lead on discharge from the consultant, the nurses and physios who are treating the patient.

Patients tend to progress better at home so there is a focus on getting you home, but it shouldn't feel rushed, so apologies if it did.

We don't treat NHS and private patients differently in this regard, you are here until the health professionals feel you are well enough and safe to go home.

Best wishes for a full recovery.

Regards, Chris Sealey, General Manager.
