"LGI Paediatric Neurology"

About: Clarendon Wing, Leeds General Infirmary Leeds General Infirmary / Accident and emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

Our 5 year old son was admitted to LGI via our local A&E department this summer. He presented with an Extradural Haematoma and was critically ill on arrival. After emergency surgery he was kept overnight in Paediatric ICU before transferring to Ward 52. The care he received at every level was second to none; from the Surgeons, Nurses, various consulting specialists & auxiliary staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble, answers to questions were repeated however many times we needed them to be and most of all no-one pushed our boy harder than he was ready to be pushed. Everyone in the ward is highly skilled and genuinely cares about outcomes for patients. We were never in any doubt about how ill our boy had been, but the team were incredibly supportive throughout treatment and beyond.

Dear Lima3105

Thank you for taking the time to feed back about your family's experience at the Leeds General Infirmary. I am so glad to hear that you felt supported by our staff members during what must have been an extremely worrying time. I will pass your comments on to the management teams in Paediatric ICU and ward L52 for them to relay them to staff, who I am sure will be pleased to know that you were happy with the care your son received. I hope he continues to recover well.

Kindest regards

Rosie
