"I would like to feel comfortable in my own home"

About: North Ayrshire Council - Irvine, Garnock Valley and Community Alarm

(as a service user),

I have carers coming in three mornings a week. It used to be split between 2 girls unless one of them was on holiday, then other people would cover. I was happy with this service.

About three weeks ago this all changed and I now have different girls every day – I don’t like this and I know the girls don’t like it either. I don’t like all these different people coming in to my house.

I don’t feel comfortable with people I don’t know seeing me in all states. I am getting up at 5am so that I can be up, get cleaned up and get organised before they arrive. When I had the girls I knew I wasn’t embarrassed and was comfortable with them helping me.

Some of the new carers come in to my house, they sit there and don’t do anything and then they leave. I’m starting to feel it’s not worth having them.

I would like to have the same girls visiting me every day and feel comfortable in my own home.

Dear Flora 123

I am sorry to hear that the recent change to your Care a Home service is no longer meeting your needs and causing you discomfort and embarrassment.

Can I please ask that you contact me on 01294 310222 to discuss your concerns, which we can hopefully resolve.

Kind regards

Louise
