"Ward 7/ dental surgery"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

My elderly mother was admitted through A&E for an abcess/ infection which it seemed was beyond the GP and Dentist. A&E were brilliant and everyone we came into contact with were extremely professional. Mum was moved to Ward 7 and again we were pleased with her care. The Maxillfacial surgery unit were very caring and all were excellent. The only other comments I would make concerning Mum's stay in Ward 7 were that when Nurses were busy dealing with patients, some patients always intercepted them, requesting their immediate attention. More experienced Nurses were able to deflect the intrusive natures but some more inexperienced Nurses were delayed. When off the Ward for medical treatment, often no meals were ordered for Mum and on her return it was a problem because of her Diabetes and trying to get a meal. A lovely Doctor did intervene on one occasion and insisted on a warm meal for Mum instead of sandwiches which would have been impossible for her to eat.

Dear Lyn

Thank you for taking the time to post your comment.

We are really pleased to hear how well your mother has been cared for when recently admitted to the Royal Infirmary. Your feedback is much appreciated and has been shared with staff in A&E, ward 7 and our Maxillofacial team. We hope your mother is feeling better.

Kind regards,

Communications team,
