My daughter managed to scratch my eye so spent 4 hours in emergency department on Friday night which was to be expected. At 3 in the morning was given eye drops and told to return to Othometry department the next day to see the eye doctor. The doctor I had seen could not find opening times so I said we would get down by lunch time.
Obviously as I had been told not to drive and was not able to as I was is quite a lot of pain I had a very patient partner who was driving me.
After a slight lay in on Saturday morning got the kids ready and we all had a trip back down to Lister to see the eye doctor. turned up to be told they were now closed at just passed 12. There suggestion was to take my 2, 3 year old girls and partner and make a visit to moor fields in London as the doctor would not be able to fit me in. So after explaining we were going on holiday that afternoon they said sorry and sent us on our way to go on holiday with an eye that I could not keep open for more than 5 minutes at a time.
Really disapointed with the way we were just turned away and will be posting this in as many forums as possible. Not that it will make any difference as the hospital takes no notice and at the end of the day what option do we have when we have an emergency than to just return for the same treatment.
