"Excellent Clinical Care but appalling catering!"

About: Charing Cross Hospital

Attended the A&E department with chest pain, seen almost immediately and was admitted for further tests and discharged later the same day.

The care I received from the medical, nursing and support staff was exceptional and I was kept fully informed at all stages of my treatment.

This was the NHS at their best despite an obvious heavy workload.

I have one negative which was the food and there is only one word which describes this and that is disgusting.

I was impressed by the menu options and chose Haddock and Chips.

Well the Haddock was akin to a large fish finger and it was like chewing a piece of leather, I spit it out after the first mouthful.

The chips were all gongealed and completely tasteless.

I pity anyone having to spend a few days there.

Fortunately there was a Subway in the building!
