"treatment after dislocated shoulder"

About: Southport & Formby District General Hospital

I am writing to thank all the staff who attended to me on Sunday 16th August in the A and E department of Southport hospital. My husband and mum brought me in following an accident involving my horses in which I dislocated my left shoulder an was in extreme distress and agony. The receptionist took one look at me and brought me straight in to sit down, think I was about to pass out,the nurse gave me 2 codeine pain killers and rushed me through for an xray.I was then transfered to a bed, constantly being reassured of what was going on, the nurse put a line in my arm, allowing hubby and mum to sit with me, before putting me out to pop shoulder back in! I was woken up and sent down for second xray then fitted with a sling, given a follow up appointment at the fracture clinic next week and allowed to come home.I was very impressed with all the staff's kindness and professional approach, mixed with care and sense of humour, at all times I felt in good hands.Thank you all so much for the excellent service, 10 out of 10 ,Mrs. Nicola Crawford
