"waiting over a year for gall stones surgery"

About: Warrington Hospital

In may 2014 I was admitted to warrington with severe pain relationship to gall stones.

The nursing staff were fabulous and I was referred to a consultant.

The consultant was excellent and I was advised I had to have further tests to rule out any other issues prior to confirming surgery.

This was Sept 2014.

Come match 2015 I had heard nothing so called the hospital to be told sorry but I'd been forgotten about and I would get another appointment to see my consulyant .

In July I saw him and my surgery was agreed.

The week after I was admitted to a n e again due to severe pain and spent time in SAU where again the staff were excellent I was however told by one Dr they would remove my gall bladder finally only to listen to the doctor be told no and argued about by other Dr's.

I was discharged even though a whole bay of beds to spare with the promise of a surgery date just to get me to go home which was given only to find 2 days later this had been cancelled.

I was then told to wait for 3 weeks as the member of staff I had to speak too was away.

I received a call last week to say my surgery was booked for today.

I had my pre op yesterday and then rang this morning to confirm my bed to find yet again my surgery has been cancelled due to no beds.

I was also told I had someone leave me a voicemail last night not received

I was then told someone might call me tommorrow to discuss a date and got a sorry. so at what point did my 18 week wait expire last year when I was forgotten about?

Or this year when I rang to find out I was forgotten about.

2 ops cancelled and in pain and discomfort for over a year and 2 admissions to a n e to show for it.

Nurses and Dr's great administration and organisation absolutely shocking.
